Trip to Zaragoza - Day 1

[Travel log post] Our journey for these holidays begins in the Zaragoza's train station called "Delicias".





Outside the train station there is a bridge connecting to Zaragoza's exposition park at one side and the other was the city.


I used the articulated bus system to reach to the city.  I didnt realized how close was the train station to my hostel so there wasn't need to take the bus really.


Tourism information center.  I liked the "cube" form of the building.  I use a lot this centers in my trips as a way to get free maps and touristic atractions.


Zaragoza's bullring.



Burger King for lunch time!!  Prices are in Euros, so for a Big King combo it was €6.90.  How much it cost in your neck of the woods a combo of Burger King?



Basilica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar (Basillica of Our Lady of the Pillar), the main central church in Zaragoza.


Tranversing the city there is the Ebron river.


Zaragoza doesnt have a metro or underground train system, they count with a modern tram system.

Zaragoza Day 2

Second day in review of my trip to Zaragoza, Spain. I travel as a backpacker so I walked a lot for this day. Shall we begin?


I headed downtown for this day and bumped with this gate and cinema.


Two lovely girls. I fell in love with the style of the one in the left. I dont know if were local or tourists like me.


Over here there is a store department chain very famous called "The English Cut" - El Corte Inglés. I think English people have a superior acceptable way to dress.




While walking I arrived to one of the tram stations.


My lunch for the day was a sandwich. Europe its kind of expensive with hand made food.  This sandwich cost me like 4 Euros. Fast food is a little bit cheaper and fries included.



Local soccer stadium "La Romareda". Not very impressive but certainly is bigger than our national stadium back in Guatemala.

Palacio de la Aljaferia

While being in Zaragoza, I visited The Aljaferia Palace (Palacio de la Aljaferia). A default stop of every tourist of the city.


The Aljafería Palace is a fortified medieval Islamic palace built during the second half of the 11th century.



It has a Moorish style as you can see in the columns.



At some point in time, the palace became the residence of Spanish kings.




Nowadays it currently it houses the Cortes or autonomous community legislative assembly of Aragon


I liked this saloon because of the groin vaults in the construction. The sala was a library museum.

Arkadia Shopping Mall

There is a brand new shopping mall in my neighborhood called Arkadia.  It has cloth stores, shoe stores and many other popular stores including a Wallmart.


I took the time to go and visit this mall last week. Since its very new not many people visit to it yet.


I wasn't lonely in my photo walk. Asuna in her navy uniform outfit was with me.

I wasn't aware of how important is to have a dollfie carrying case or bag to properly transport Asuna with me.

Restoration area. In the roof top of the mall there is loung area called "The Terrace".



Here is a great view of the surroundings from Arkadia's Terrace.



The parking lot is big and has a lot of space. It was kind of empy for that day but I guess weekends are more crowdy.

Castillo de San Felipe

One of the biggest tourist attractions in Guatemala is the Castillo de San Felipe (St. Philip's Castle), located in the department of Izabal.



Was a Spanish colonial fort strategically situated at the narrowest point to repel pirates.



The fort consists of a semicircular bastion enclosed behind two converging outer walls, each terminating in a roughly square tower. The fort has three storeys.



There are a lot of cannon's in the fort but only one is still preserved in bronze dated from 1796.



I was caught in this shot without a notice. Well, at least my back.

Hibike! Euphonium

New anime show sensation of the season: Hibike! Euphonium or Sound! Euphonium. This is another anime related to high school band club, almost similar with K-On!....almost, but with instrumental music.




One of the main characters is Kumiko Oumae. She plays the Euphonium, a wind brass instrument.




I bet you didnt thought there could be such moe-ness in a brass band.

[Hack Post] From the Wii game Muramasa: The Demon Blade (朧村正), manufacturer company Alter designed this PVC figure: Momohime, the young princess and main character of the game.

I totally love the pose and colors of Momohime figure.



The wii game is back from 2009 and the first release of the figure from 2010. Have you guys played the game before?

La Aurora Park Zoo

Guatemalan park zoo La Aurora, is one of the biggest attractions of the city region. It has many species in a protected environment, from birds to leopards. There is even a little aquarium and a serpentarium.



The animals aren't in cages. They are in a simulated open field from their places of origin. There are specific view spots for us to watch them in a secure manner.


Im glad I took my 70-300mm lens for this trip.  Most of the pictures here were taken with that lens.



Guatemala is a tropical country but in the zoo you can watch Humboldt penguins. The penguins have an estricted diet and controlled temperature water transparent tank.


The most recent attraction of the zoo: Yellow tail lemurs!




Tigers are like the bigger brothers of cats. I would like to go and hug them but only if they have ate their meal first.

I havent played nor watched the game in detail, but I like vocal singer Julia. Must be because of her hair style.



All the pics were collected from the Internet but later I found this wikia page where you can find a collection of more campaign cards.






I totally like girls wearing sports outfits.

Asuna Photo Walk

Dollfie Dream Asuna joined me for a photowalk at Univ. de San Carlos (USAC) - national university in Guatemala. She was wearing her brand new brown school seifuku uniform (marine style school uniform from Japan).

It has been a long time since my last photoshoot but I always have fun taking pictures to Asuna. :)



She is a natural model as you can see.




Ups, what kind of shot is this? I think I slipped my finger in the camera button. I swear! Lol.

My favorite monster girl is Miia, a half human in the top and half snake at the bottom
